Halt & Hass Testing

HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Tests) and HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screens) are highly accelerated design
improvement testing and highly accelerated production stress screening methods. HALT and HASS testing/screening are new methods for finding design weaknesses that cause products to fail. HALT emphases environmental and electrical stimulation during the design phase in order to accelerate design and process maturity. This technique allows more rugged and robust products to be introduced to the market. HASS methods are used in the production cycle to verify process and design control. Both methods, as compared to traditional design testing and production screening techniques, result in dramatically better product reliability and lower warranty costs.

HALT and HASS test procedures are custom tailored for each type of item to be tested. If requested, ETL's staff will assist in developing test procedures for your test items.
